the day when some celebrate the day "against " the death penalty, I consider it my right to express my conviction "yes" to penalty death. I think this
a right and a duty, even for a trace, in a statement gray standardized and conformist, a view that, despite the silence imposed by the "politically correct", is and remains strong in the hearts and in the minds of many, perhaps the majority .
The death penalty to be right - like any other punishment imposed by a state - must meet three basic requirements :
1) be predetermined by the code
2) to be ' inside of a sort in which the judiciary is independent from political
3) be delivered after a trial in which prosecution and defense have been placed in a position of equality affirm their reasons and to seek out and present evidence in inculpatory or exculpatory.
E 'therefore clear that a death sentence pronounced and executed, for example, the United States or Japan fully complies with such requirements, and are not those imposed in China, Cuba or Iran .
added a fourth requirement is that the deterrent effect : not run too late with respect to acts committed .
The death penalty, with those requirements, then replied to three functions which are peculiar:
1) security with the final elimination of the offender that, thus, can no longer repeat the crime for which he was sentenced and executed;
2) penalty with the satisfaction of the relatives of victims who are entitled to see punished, in proportion to the crime committed, the criminal who caused their pain and are entitled to see that the state does not let the criminals go unpunished;
3) deterrence , because if even one criminal, fearing the maximum punishment, restrain the murderous hand, we have saved at least one innocent life . The
death penalty, imposed by those requirements and with these aims, it is fully legitimate , belongs to our Civilization, is able to comfort the safety of law-abiding citizens.
For these reasons, I reiterate my strong "yes" to the death penalty . Log
